The winner of the competition is Alan Baker. All entries had merit, but for ease of printing etc, Alan's was the best.

Special Operating Meeting

August 8th - Preserved loco day. Any locomotive (steam/diesel/electric) that is in preservation will be welcomed on this day. This more or less coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the Bluebell Railway. Any member intending to bring along a loco(s) can they please advise Brian Roper beforehand of the running number to ensure there is no duplication.

And a reminder for:

September 26th - Silver Jubilee and A4 Day.

On each day, guest locomotives will be welcome. Please make sure the wheels are clean and that it has the correct tension lock coupling at both ends or tender.

Date of Next Operating Meeting

The next Operating Meeting will be on Sunday 8th August 2010.

At this meeting we are opening our doors to members of the Pickhurst Green Allotment Association during the afternoon. It would be good if we could have all 6 sheds operating, so please make the effort and come along to show off out Model Railway Club.

Please advise the Secretary Tim Crumplin on 01323 848051 beforehand (or 0777 573 4853) or the Chairman, Trevor Hammond on 07957 102411 if you cannot attend. Text messages are also accepted!!! This is also the contact number if you have any queries on the day. Please note that e-mail messages will not be read after lunchtime on the Friday before a meeting. THIS APPLIES TO ALL MEMBERS!

THIS IS IMPORTANT AS WE NEED TO KNOW WHETHER TO SET UP FOR 4 OR 6 SHED OPERATION AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE

Visitors to the Club over the age of 18 are always welcome; please call the Secretary, Tim Crumplin for more information about meeting us at an operating session.

STOP PRESS

Seen at the Nescot Model Railway Exhibition was a certain Rusper treasurer rushing to the Thomas Junction layout (anyone in his path was pushed out of the way or trampled on).

The young persons currently operating the layout were quickly eliminated and no-one else was allowed to use the layout for the remainder of the morning. The treasurer was last seen being dragged away by two burly men in white coats.

It is understood that the treatment is going well and he should be released in time for the next Rusper meeting.
